Habits on the calendar
Giving a habit a time puts it on the calendar — and changes what it can do.
A habit with a time stops being just a check-in item: it appears on the Calendar, on the day and at the hour, and can fire an alert.
Without a time it exists for the whole day — you keep it whenever you can, and it only shows in the check-in.
Setting a time
- On the Habits screen, edit the habit.
- Fill in the preferred time and save.
What changes
| Without a time | With a time | |
|---|---|---|
| Today's check-in | yes | yes |
| Shows on the Calendar | no | yes |
| Can fire an alert | no | yes |
| Can be rescheduled for today only | no | yes |
When the day does not cooperate
If today does not work at the usual hour, use change time for today only instead of editing the habit. Editing changes every following day because of one.
Where it lives
The Habits screen to set the time; the Calendar screen to see the result. On the Calendar, the Habits filter turns their display on and off.
Limits and plans
Available on any paid plan. Habit alerts follow the alert rules.
Common questions
My habit is not showing on the calendar. Either it has no time, or the Habits filter is off in the Calendar sidebar.
Can I drag the habit on the calendar to change its time? The adjustment is made from the day detail or the check-in, which make it explicit whether the change applies to that day only or forever — a distinction dragging cannot express.
