Keyboard shortcuts
There are few, on purpose. These are worth remembering.
DayAlly has one global shortcut and a handful of conventions inside forms. The list is short because a shortcut nobody remembers is dead weight in the documentation.
The one that matters
Ctrl+K — opens search from any screen. On a Mac, ⌘+K.
It looks through tasks, recurring tasks, events, habits, conversations, and the articles in this help. It is the fastest route to anything you can name.

| Enter | sends the message |
| Shift+Enter | line break without sending |
Inside forms
- Enter confirms a quick creation: a new step in a task, a new tag, a new section, your name in the profile. You do not have to leave the keyboard to click "add".
- Esc closes the open dialog. Anything filled in and not saved is lost.
- Tab moves between fields, and a Skip to content link appears on the first Tab of every screen.
Common questions
Can I define my own shortcuts? Not today.
Why is there no shortcut for a new task? Because Ctrl+K already opens search, and creating from there is one path to remember. A second shortcut would compete with the first without saving anything.
