What syncs (and what does not)

Syncing with Google and Outlook runs one way: from there to here.

• Comes into DayAlly: events from the calendars you ticked, with title, time, all-day flag, and any changes or deletions made at the source.
• Does not go to Google or Outlook: nothing. Events and tasks created here stay here.

Why it works this way

The permission the app asks for is read-only — calendar.readonly on Google, Calendars.Read on Microsoft. That limits what DayAlly can do even in the event of a failure or a breach: no token stored here is capable of changing your work calendar.

Where it lives

Settings → Integrations shows each connection's state and the time of the last sync. The Calendar sidebar controls which calendars appear.

What happens to imported events

They appear marked as external and are read-only: opening one shows the details, but there is no editing. Change it there, it changes here on the next sync — which runs every 15 minutes.

Common questions

I deleted an event in Google. Does it go from here? Yes, on the next sync.

I tried to edit an imported event's title and it would not let me. Correct: it is a mirror. Edit it at the source.

Will two-way sync exist? It is not available today. It would require write permission on your calendar, which is a very different security decision from the current one.
